How does it work?
Connect your Planday system to Xero.
Map your salary codes and shift types to Xero pay items.
Export the payroll report, sync to Xero, then run pay-roll processing in Xero as usual.
Set up your integration
- Ensure you have Admin access in Planday (with rights over all departments and the Integrations section).
- In Planday: Go to Settings → Integrations → Overview → Locate Xero → “Set up” → Authorise the Xero organisation connection.
- In Planday: Set up salary codes and shift types under Settings → Payroll → General and Schedule → Shift types so they’re ready for mapping to Xero.
- Run a test export: Go to Payroll → Xero payroll → Create report preview, select date/department filters, preview hours, then sync.
- Roll-out: Once validated, use the workflow for full pay-runs, monitor for errors and adjust mappings or configurations as required.
